Türkiye’de kebere tarımı henüz yaygınlaşmamıştır, keberenin uzun yıllardan beri doğadan toplanan tomurcukları ihrac edilmektedir.Keberenin yurt dışından talebi oldukça fazladır. İhracatı avrupa ülkelerine, ABD ve arap ülkelerine yapılmaktadır. Türkiye sadece 10-14 milyon dolar gibi bir miktar kazanç elde etmektedir. İspanya artık kebereyi milli bitki ilan  etmiş ve korumaya almış, zeytinlikleri söküp kebere dikmeye başlamıştır.
